Reviews and Complaints
Tweakbit is a straight up scam

Preferred solution: Full refund
Horrible and scary experience
Preferred solution: I want people to know about this, and I want Microsoft to reconsider their apparent partnership with Tweakbit.
Resolved: Don't Tust Them
Returned all money that they took out of my account and refunded me the Tech. fee.
I was able to get a full refund of all money after 3-4 day time frame. I still will not use any company that have Tech's or Customer service people from India.
Still don't trust them. Way to pushy always wanting me to connect with them so they can get on my computer and screw it up some how.

Preferred solution: Full refund
Scam City
I run Malwarebytes every weekend to check for intrusions that get past my VIPRE Internet Security Suite. Most scans come up with 0 threats, but occasionally it will pick up a few threats that I quarantine.
A few days after downloading and Installing Tweakbit, I began getting ransomware threats on web sites that I have used for ages without any problems. I ran a Malwarebytes scan and it showed I had 223 potential threats and infections and all were from the Tweakbit application. I immediately quarantined them and then went to Control Panel to uninstall the application. I could not find it, so it must be hidden somewhere on my hard drive.
If anyone knows how to track it down so I can uninstall it, that would be great.
Note: After the quarantine, my Tweakbit desktop shirt disappeared. So maybe it uninstalled itself.
- Tried to upsell me at time of purchase

Tweakbit Scam
Kept getting in deeper and deeper. I suspect the positive reviews on here are from the scammers.
I was having problems with my mouse and got linked to tweakbit. It kept escalating; the big red flag should have been when I had installed everything and it had scanned and then to fix it it suddenly wanted money. Usually they let you know the costs up front. But I was desperate to fix my mouse to get some projects done, and so I paid 15 dollars.
My bank automatically rejected it.
Second red flag, but I thought, eh, it's a computer thing, it probably automatically red flags it. I used my credit card and it went through but they notified me that this could be fraud. Then they wanted me to call to get a license number and give them more information. This was really abnormal - who else does this?
Norton? No. Microsoft? No.
They put the costs up front and don't ask you to call and go through a lengthy activation process for the basic service.
In the middle of the call they asked me to go to helpme.net, at which point google autosupplied "is a scam" and I hung up the phone.
My credit card company is going to monitor my account. I'm out 15 dollars, which is better than some other people here, but I'm frustrated I spent over an hour trying to fix my computer and it was a scam; and, that the site which recommended tweakbit seemed legitimate.
Tweakbit Scam - followup
As a followup to the Dec 17 post. The credit card in question was a rarely-used US Dollar card which I basically reserved for the odd online purchase.
The ONLY use of this card in the previous two years was the Tweakbit purchase. On Feb 3, 2018 I received a fraud alert from the credit card issuer. On calling their 800 number I learned that a charge of $1,599 had been put put through earlier that day, and they wanted to know if I would approve another purchase of $1,485 for "Scottsdale Pen".
Naturally I had the card cancelled on the spot. I leave it to the reader to decide if my "outing" of Tweakbit had anything to do with the credit card fraud.
- Product was acceptable

TWEAKBIT - is a scam
I installed tweakbit's PC Max software on a 90 day trial, and decided it was not worth renewing. One week before the automatic renewal wirh corresponding automatic billing to my credit card, I received an email giving me notice of renewal.
The same email provided the follwing message "c lick here if you don't want to renew your subscription" Guess what? THE LINK DOES NOT WORK My next action was to email support@***.com , describing the situation and stating (in capitals) I DO NOT WISH TO RENEW. I requested a written confirmation of cancellation. No luck.
I then contacted my credit card disputed dept., and received an 800 number to contact the merchant. This turned out to be a front end clearing house called paddle.com, who are the ones who put the charges thru. Seven times in a row I attempted to call this number. All 7 were exactly the same: - you've reached paddle.com order support.
- Please wait for an agent. - 1 second of canned music. - all of our agents are busy.
- please email help@***.com or use our self service system at paddle.com/change THIS LINK WAS ALSO NOT FOUND. WARNING - KEEP AWAY FROM TWEAKBIT, AND PADDLE.COM
Preferred solution: Full refund
